Act Now: Say “No” to Wasting Millions on a Special Election
Jump to the PetitionAlameda County Board of Supervisors,
I am writing to urge you to consolidate the recall election with the general election in November. Alameda County should not spend $15 million to $20 million on a special stand-alone election, especially at a time when county leaders project a budget deficit. These resources could, instead, be used to balance our budget and to fund evidence-based improvements to our county’s economic, social and critical health needs.
Recall election results should reflect the will of the most voters possible. Holding a recall vote outside of a regularly scheduled election can be challenging for voter turnout, especially among young people and communities of color. Our voices should matter in every election. We cannot be left out or left behind.
Thank you,
