National Phone Bank for Chicago
Chicago State's Attorney Anita Alvarez's horrible track record of criminalizing Black communities while failing to hold police accountable has left the city in deep crisis. Alvarez held the video of Laquan McDonald for more than a year until its release was forced but a court order.
Even with public pressure to resign, Alvarez is running for State's Attorney again and the race is close. We need to make sure voters know about Alvarez's record. Local organizers are running phone banks with the technology to allow you to call from anywhere. Will you sign up to join our national phone bank for Chicago?
Anita Alvarez has helped make Illinois the wrongful conviction capitol of the country but not enough Chicagoans know about her full record. It's been shown that voters who get contacted by phone prior to the election are more likely to vote. We are building a national network of callers to help local organizers from the BlackRoots Alliance reach more voters.
This is easy. Just sign up and an organizer will contact you and get you started as a phone banker. You can even leave a note to tell them when and how to best get in contact or your availability to make calls.
Join us today to hold one of the worst prosecutors in the country accountable.
