We must bring justice for Renisha McBride

Unarmed 19-year-old Renisha McBride was fatally shot while she went looking for help after surviving a car crash. Theodore Wafer, who shot Renisha was arrested a week after the shooting took place. Now he is being charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter for killing her. But he may never be held accountable because of Michigan's deadly so-called "Stand Your Ground" or "Shoot First" law.

We cannot let another Black teenager's death go unpunished. Please join us in demanding justice for Renisha McBride.

Join us in sending this message to elected officials across the country:

It's time to end so-called "Stand Your Ground" laws and other such laws that undermine public safety, senselessly put people at risk, and enable the kind of tragedy we've witnessed in the cases of Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis. I'm calling on you to take leadership and undo these dangerous laws now.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
