Tell Superintendent Jay Foster: Drop the charges against the Walker family!
Tate County, Mississippi Superintendent Jay Foster has filed a criminal complaint against the Walker family; they're facing real jail time and hefty fines, all for cheering their loved one on at graduation!
This is a classic example of Black communities being overcharged for seemingly innocuous offenses. Superintendent Foster's actions are part of a law and order mentality that's focused on controlling and criminalizing Black people for "stepping out of line." Enough is enough.
Join us in demanding Superintendent Jay Foster drop the charges against the Walkers family.

Dear Superintendent Foster,
Your decision to file a criminal complaint against the Walker family, simply for cheering on their loved one at a graduation ceremony, is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.
Obviously the Walker family broke the rules that night; they accepted their punishment of ejection. But with so much stacked against our young people in this society, isn’t it understandable that this family would get caught up in the moment? No one deserves to be thrown in prison simply for expressing how proud they are of their children.
There are other ways to deter noise making at a graduation besides criminalizing proud Black families. This is a classic example of Black communities being overcharged for seemingly innocuous actions.
We demand that you drop the charges against the Walker family immediately.
