Below is the letter we will send to Wells Fargo Executives:
Demand Wells Fargo pay Black communities for upholding systemic racism.

Wells Fargo CEO & Co-Chief Executive Charles Scharf outright admitted that it upholds structures of systemic racial profiling and hiring discrimination. Wells Fargo has proven what we’ve always known due to its history of racist practices that have negatively affected Black consumers and communities. Over the years Wells Fargo has been exposed for unfairly charging Black and Hispanic customers outrageous fees and has been a key factor in contributing to the early 2000 housing crisis.
Wells Fargo owes Black communities for long-standing harms because of the pervasive systemic racism that has resulted in employment harassment at the executive level which has trickled down to Black customers. Wells Fargo has been an active participant in increasing the wealth gap, displacing families from their homes due to foreclosure, and its poor banking practices have perpetuated a negative relationship between Black people and banking institutions. We cannot allow this banking institution to continue to siphon wealth from our communities. Demand Wells Fargo address its years of racist practices and repair the long-standing harms of this institution to our communities.
Here is the Petition:
Wells Fargo Executives,
Black communities have suffered for years at the hands of racist practices resulting from Wells Fargo’s policies, practices, and internal structure that have upheld systemic racism. To outright confirm that your institution upholds structures of systemic racial profiling and hiring discrimination speaks volumes to the ethos of your company. Black consumers have experienced not only financial hardship but emotional damage banking while Black. We demand that Wells Fargo invest back into Black communities what it has taken and more due to this history of racist practices that have repeatedly been exposed.
