For decades, crime TV has taught America that:

• Black neighborhoods need military-style policing
• Police brutality is justified
• Constitutional rights are obstacles
• Our communities are threats, not humans

Black stories deserve to be told honestly, preserving our truth, our history, and our dreams by capturing the realities of Black people and our aspirations for a better future. But far too often, our stories are distorted and weaponized to prop up the same systems that try to keep us oppressed.

We demand a new narrative. One that protects our communities and makes systemic violence against Black people not only intolerable – but unconscionable.
