    Support The Community Safety Agenda

We need a positive agenda to advance community safety in the face of efforts to roll back the gains we've already made.

The Community Safety Legislative Agenda for 2023 outlines substantive solutions agreed upon by more than a 70 organizations nationwide. It advances solutions that invest in people and communities — and not in police and prisons — to keep people safe.

This includes supporting the “Break The Cycle of Violence” Act, which would make significant recurring investments in violence intervention, and the “Mental Health Justice” Act, which would support local and state governments in training and dispatching mental health professionals to respond to people amidst a mental health crisis.

We ask for your help in ensuring Congress and the Biden-Harris Administration hear our collective voices. Demand passage of the Community Safety Legislative Agenda.

The Community Safety Agenda is a joint project of more than 70 civil rights, public health, racial justice, housing, violence prevention, economic justice, and allied organizations nationwide dedicated to building safety that works for all communities.

    Here is the Petition:
Our current approach to safety has not been able to keep our communities safe. We must see Congress invest in substantively different solutions outlined in the "Community Safety Agenda." Over 70 organizations in the country have come together to outline a legislative agenda to provide people with the resources they need to create true safety.

I am signing below and asking you to support the legislative solutions outlined in the Community Safety Agenda.
