    Ban Fake Clinics in Georgia

In Georgia, the government funds fake clinics that use deceptive advertising to lure people in, posing as legitimate abortion providers. Once inside, visitors are subjected to medically inaccurate claims, delays in care, and coercion. In a state where over half of counties lack an OB-GYN or pediatrician—state funds are funneled into fake clinics that do not provide real medical care. They are unlicensed and unregulated. Fake clinics are not medical facilities, meaning they are not bound by healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA) and are not required to provide factual, unbiased medical information.

Put simply: Establishments should never deceive pregnant people about the services they can access. Sign on to our letter to state representatives today!

Here is the letter to state representatives:

    Dear Lawmaker,

As your constituent I am urging you to support legislation that would ban fake clinics. In Georgia, the government funds fake clinics that use deceptive advertising to lure people in, posing as legitimate abortion providers. Once inside, visitors are subjected to medically inaccurate claims, delays in care, and coercion.

Establishments should never deceive pregnant people about the services they can access.

    Please co-sponsor the following bills:

    • The Pregnancy Center Fraud Prevention Act (HB 488 and SB 196) would:
✅ Require full transparency from facilities that offer only limited pregnancy services about the healthcare they provide (or lack thereof).
✅ Prohibit deceptive advertising that falsely implies they provide abortion or prenatal medical care if they do not.
    • The End Public Funding of Misinformation Act (HB 489 and SB 197) would:
✅ End the misuse of public funds by anti-abortion centers, which mainly exist to operate ideology-driven programs with little proven benefit to Georgians.
✅ Repeal the 2017 grant program for these anti-abortion centers and return the $2 million in public tax dollars spent every year on AACs to the general fund where it could be used to meet real needs and real healthcare initiatives.
    • The Fund Healthy Pregnancy and Parenting Resolution (HR 274 and SR 207) would:
✅ Urge the redirection of $2 million annually in state funds from these unlicensed and unregulated anti-abortion pregnancy centers to instead support the Georgia Home Visiting Program, an evidence-based program that provides home visits during pregnancy and early childhood to improve birth outcomes, reduce preterm deliveries, and decrease infant and maternal mortality.
