    Thank You, Commissioner Clyburn

Federal Communications Commissioner Mignon Clyburn has announced her departure. Commissioner Clyburn has done more than any other FCC commissioner to protect an open internet through net neutrality, and to expand broadband access to low-income, rural, and communities of color. As the attacks against net neutrality increase, Commissioner Clyburn’s steadfast work will be greatly missed.

We at Color of Change have written a letter to Commissioner Clyburn, thanking her for years of service. We’re asking you to add on with your own comments of thanks and congratulations, which we will present to her at a later date.

    Here is the Petition:
    Dear Commissioner Clyburn,

We thank you for your years of public service and for being a pioneer in the telecommunications sector. Your tenure as an FCC Commissioner has been historic and groundbreaking. As the first Black woman to serve as an FCC Commissioner, then as the first Black woman to serve as an FCC Acting Chairperson, your term is marked by unparalleled advancements in net neutrality rights, expanding broadband access, prison phone justice, and working to improve communication for low-income communities through the LifeLine program.

Your tenacity in standing up to the big telecom industry and fighting for your community does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. You leave behind a legacy that will endure for generations.

    Thank You,

    Color of Change
