    Demand Brian Kemp Stop Suppressing the Black Vote in Georgia!

    The deadline to register to vote in Georgia has passed and Secretary of State, Brian Kemp is sitting on 53,000 unprocessed voter registrations, 70% of which belong to Black applicants. The most important role of the secretary of state's office is to make sure elections are fair, accessible, and secure. Processing these registration forms is not only the right thing to do — but it's also his job.

    Brian Kemp has a long history of suppressing the Black vote in the state of Georgia. Under his watch, Georgia has cancelled 1.2 million voter registrations since 2012 and has targeted and prosecuted Black activists who try to increase absentee voter turnout in Black communities. 

    Here is the Petition:

    Dear Mr. Kemp,

    I am writing to encourage you to process the 53,000 voter registration forms submitted to your office before the October 9th deadline.

    The Nov. 6th election is swiftly approaching and with just a little over a week left for voters to register, it is crucial that you take immediate action to ensure that these potential Georgia voters can cast their ballots. You have a tremendous opportunity to assist in making this a huge year for voter turnout in Georgia. By simply processing the voter registration forms, you will not only be upholding your duties and responsibilities as the Secretary of State, but also ensuring that every voter has the opportunity to be heard.

    In the interest of democracy and protecting the freedom to vote for all, I urge you to process the backlog of voter registration forms your office has received.
