Enough is enough-- it's time we #ProtectBlackWomen. Donate to help make Justice Rides for my daughter Chikesia Clemons a reality.
This Monday, I'm working with Color Of Change to bus people in from across the South to #ProtectBlackWomen. We'll deliver over 50,000 petition signatures to prosecutor’s office, demanding he drop her charge of disorderly conduct. Donate to make sure we have enough funds to conduct a powerful action the prosecutor can't ignore.
On April 21, 2018, my daughter Chikesia was assaulted and wrongfully arrested at a Waffle House by Saraland, AL police. They slammed her body to the ground, publicly humiliated her, then put her in a chokehold and attempted to break her arm. She is now being charged with disorderly conduct even though the officers were actually the ones out of order.
Color Of Change and I are mobilizing people to join us for Justice Rides from Atlanta and Birmingham to Saraland City Attorney Andrew J. Rutens' office. Fighting for Chikesia means fighting for countless other Black women who have fallen victim to state violence. Let’s #ProtectBlackWomen. Donate now.
