Support Color Of Change's fight to prevent another insurrection

[An image of insurrectionists the clashing with the Capitol police from the January 6, 2021 insurrection. The text reads "We must take action to prevent another insurrection." The Color Of Change logo is underneath the text.]

The insurrection on January 6, 2021 was a trial run. Since then, insurrectionists elected to office and those running for offices that would give them the power to certify state elections, such as David Perdue in Georgia, continue to maintain the Big Lie—a series of baseless claims that Donald Trump and his allies made stating that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump. The insurrection has laid the foundation for a seizure of power by white nationalists in 2024, and we must take action to protect our democracy.

The Stop the Steal movement used Facebook to spread the Big Lie and organize the insurrection. Despite the evidence that Facebook enabled and amplified insurrectionist content, Facebook continues to refuse to take responsibility for how their choices harm us and our democracy. With our members' support, Color Of Change has successfully fought to prevent further harm from the insurrection, such as kicking Trump off Twitter and Facebook. To prevent another insurrection, we need Congress to pass legislation that would regulate tech companies and protect Black communities from election misinformation and hate speech.

In addition to pushing Congress for legislation, Color Of Change will continue to hold corporations accountable and ensure they stop providing financial resources and platforms for insurrectionists and white nationalists to organize and win elections. Contribute to Color Of Change's fight in preventing another insurrection.
