Color Of Change is partnering with folks on the ground to provide relief to Black folks in Jackson, Mississippi impacted by the month-long water outages. In addition to providing cases of water to families, we’ll supply our people with personal protective equipment and a hot meal to ensure that Black people in Jackson feel safe and supported in light of gross administrative failure and anti-black racism in the state legislature.
Thousands of families across Jackson, Mississippi went without access to running water for over a month and even more had to boil their water to meet their basic needs throughout the day. We know that our members in Jackson are innovators who can make a way — but still, we need your help to spread the word and get clean water to folks who need it most.
We know that funds like these are only a drop in the bucket toward what is actually needed to repair the decades-old infrastructure problems in Jackson and rebuild trust for clean water. We’re choosing resilience and self-sufficiency as we build power to pressure decision-makers to do the right thing — repair the crippling infrastructure in Jackson.
