Color Of Change

This Mother's Day, help us free our Black Mamas!

This Mother's Day, we're bailing out Black Mamas so they can be reunited with their families.

At this very moment, thousands of Black mamas are sitting in jail simply because they can’t afford to pay bail.

We cannot afford to lock away the power and potential of Black mothers. Our families and communities suffer. Our babies need them. We’re freeing Black mothers because it’s their right not to be held against their will because they can’t afford it. This Mother’s Day we’re not waiting on anyone else to give our Black Mamas freedom.

Your money will be used to support our work with the National Bail Out Collective, a Black-led collective working towards ending systems of pretrial detention and ultimately ending mass incarceration. Every dollar donated is used to run ads to get the word out, amplify the stories of those bailed out Black mothers, and ensure that the National Bailout Collective has the capacity to pull the whole thing off on Mother’s Day.

From May 6-12th, a symphony of organizers, lawyers, activists, organizations, and volunteers, led by NBO, will literally walk to courthouses to pay the bail of Black mothers. Simple as that. Together our support will empower our movement to end the abusive and violent nature of the bail industry.
