We're Marching on Amazon!
We’re not going to let Amazon give a platform to hate groups. Last week, our partners at the Action Center on Race and the Economy and the Partnership for Working Families released an explosive report showing that Amazon is allowing white supremacist groups to sell items with Nazi, Confederate, and anti-Muslim imagery, including toys marketed directly to children, and helping them recruit new members by allowing them to publish their racist propaganda on Kindle. By allowing these groups to spread their message and sell products on its platform, Amazon is helping hate groups generate funding that is used for recruitment and weapons training.
Amazon needs to take a clear, public stance against racism on all its platforms.
This Tuesday, in New York City, we’re joining our partners at New York Communities for Change, Justice League NY, and others to rally outside of Amazon’s annual summit and demand they create and enforce strong policies to keep white supremacists and racist imagery off of their platforms.
Date: Tuesday, July 17th
Time: Meet at 8:30am; rally begins at 9am
Location: The Javits Center (we’ll rally in front of the center)
