Media depictions of Black folks and other people of color shape how we're perceived in society. The negative perceptions of Black men and women that form in TV audiences' minds as a result of biased portrayals translate into greater chances of us being shot by the police, diminished attention from doctors, and unequal consideration when applying for jobs, loans and educational opportunities.

We're working to reshape the media landscape to present fewer dehumanizing and more fair, accurate portrayals of Black people. Right now, we're focusing on holding television producers and networks accountable for the harmful portrayals of Black people from which they profit.
