Tuesday: Tamir Rice Solidarity Action - Black Lives Matter
12-year-old Tamir Rice was killed by Clevand police officers who were not indicted. Together, we’ll go out to hold signs to say Black Lives Matter and call for a Dept of Justice investigation, at the intersection of Division and Main. Then we’ll gather in the Community Building for discussion.

Join us in standing up for justice - for Tamir Rice, for Sandra Bland, for all those who are not finding justice in the courts. White silence in the face of this injustice is a huge part of what allows it to continue. We will gather in front of the Federal Court House, calling on the Department of Justice to step up its investigation. Around 6:30pm we way walk through Kennedy Plaza and up Westminster St, then back to the Court House.

Answer the national call to action in response to the grand jury’s decision not to indict police officers in the death of 12-yr-old Tamir Rice. This month also marks another non-indictment in the case of Sandra Bland and numerous other cases of racist police violence, both known and unknown.
We will stand at the corner and hold signs for at least an hour. Please bring signs, energy, and any chants you wish to share. The store at this intersection has a history of being cool with protesters parking there.

And basic facts of the case: his age, lack of medical care, time given to comply with police orders, and the fact that OH is in fact an open carry state (having a gun is not illegal if you are the adult police say they thought he was)

The People’s Assembly for Sandra Bland and Tamir Rice
This past week, juries moved to not indict on two distinct cases involving the deaths of a Black woman and child by police. In the tradition of our summer’s People Assembly, we will gather to honor and demand justice for Sandra Bland and 12 year-old Tamir Rice.
We will assemble on Sunday, 1/3 at 1pm at Don Pugnetti Park on Pacific Avenue & 21st Street then march down Pacific Avenue in affirmation of all Black lives and to make a visible call for justice.

Justice for Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland & all Victims of Police Terror
Tamir Rice was a 12 year old boy murdered by police officers Timothy Loehmann and Frank Garmback while playing with a toy gun at a recreation park near his home, in Cleveland Ohio. Video released shows officer Loehmann fire two shots at Tamir within seconds of the officer’s arrival; before the car came to a complete stop (video below). After the encounter neither Loehmann nor Garmback administered first aid and Tamir subsequently died the next day. Over a YEAR later with many delays as well as a corrupt prosecutor there is still no justice for Tamir - neither officer has been CHARGED with Tamir’s murder.

Justice For Tamir
Stand with us as we Stand up, Stand for, and Stand with Tamir Rice and his family, in the wake of the decision of a grand jury not to indict police officers in his killing, which occurred on November 22, 2014 in Cleveland OH.
12 year old Tamir was playing with a toy rifle. Ohio is an open carry state (as is Montana) yet this black child was shot and killed without hesitation. Monday, December 28th, 2015, a Grand Jury in Cleveland decided not to indict the police officer who murdered young Tamir.
